Ah Yes, The Old One

I still have much material to read through. I quickly skimmed the story Algernon97 recommended, At the Mountains of Madness. I don't think it will help me prepare for what our expedition, Moondancer didn't describe city ruins and as for Old Ones, we've already met our Old One. It's the Tree of Harmony. The are scarey beasts in Equestria, but I don't think there are any powerful entities older than the Tree.

Ah, it's OK. Maybe, after this all over, I'll cook up an archeology ghost story out of it and scare the Tartarus out of Moondancer. After all, she's read Slumber 101, she's due to give that a try!

Have you brushed up on spells to locate Moondancer and Lemon Hearts once you get to the North? It sounds like you've got a good handle on taking precautions so you don't need to be rescued, but you won't be much use if you get up there and realize you have no way to find them other than by wandering at random and hoping you stumble upon a clue before your dwindling supplies force you to turn back.

I'd be inclined to guess that they are in a cave, snow cave, or ancient underground structure for shelter from the weather, and that any physical traces that would lead you to the proper entrance were quickly wiped away by snowfall and/or wind. Having a way to find them that weather can't erase seems likely to be crucial.

If only I could! It would make finding lost things and people so much easier! Perhaps you were thinking of Pinkie's "Pinkie Sense"? That only works on things in motion that have the potential to intersect with Pinkie's path. I don't have Pinkie's ability and even if I did, Moondancer would have to be heading my way. Furthermore, Pinkie Sense is vague. I probably wouldn't know who was 'coming to visit'.

Finding them, if they are truly lost, is going to be tricky. This is why I need to know what they knew so I can recreate their journey. We'll also inquire around as to if anypony, or being, has seen them.
