Nothing But Blue Skies

A few flakes off a nice sweet sun-dried bale of second-cut timothy hay to settle the stomach (after one too many cupcakes), a few good books, a comfortable cushion, blue skies above, Ponyville far below, and that was my day, up on the larger balcony of the Treecastle.

I need a new telescope.

I've often wished I could use a telescope to look at the stars at night.

Sadly, light pollution where I live makes it impossible.

In our world, we use electric lights to light up the streets at night.

As a result, you can't see the stars at night if you're deep into a city. This is called "light pollution."

Ah! Electricity! We use magic to induce electron flow and excite gasses, metals, crystals and the like. Manehattan has street lamps, but even in Ponyville, the best place to look at the night sky is outside of town. There, your eyes adjust to the darkness and Princess Luna's night really shines.
